Real or Fake?

Judge for yourself on this video.  I can’t tell if it is real or fake.  But either way this video is great for two reasons. Reason #1: David Beckham. Reason #2: See reason #1.

Awesome play at home

This kid really knows how to make a play.

Bonds update

Today marked the third day of deliberation for the jury in the Barry Bonds case.  There is still no verdict and no estimated time as to when the jury will conclude.

That’s a wrap

The Masters just ended and the victor is Charl Schwartzel.  He won it by two shots.  Tiger Woods ended just short, but not for the lack of an amazing comeback. It looks like Woods is back in the game full time.

Schwartzel really made a push for it by birdieing on each of his last four holes.

Back tracking

Well I’ll be damned.  I am taking back everything that I said in my previous piece about the Masters and throwing it out the window.

Tiger Woods, yes, the player who was in 9th place just hours ago, has done the unthinkable and managed to work his way into the leader’s spot along with Adam Scott, Angel Cabrera, and Carl Schwartzel.  Jason Day has slid all the way down to number five.

We have ourselves a game folks.

Masters update

Tiger Woods started to work his way up the leader board on Saturday when he managed to move into the third spot.  Now, he has slipped all the way down to number nine, and it doesn’t seem like he will move much more, with then end of the Masters being today.

Even though Woods will not win it all, this should be the confidence boost that he needs to get back in the swing of things (no pun intended).  When he sat in the third spot it looked like he could almost pull of a top 3 finish.  He should be proud of that, despite where he sits right now.

Jason Day is 4 behind the current leader Rory McIlroy. Day has been pushing to try to become the first Australian to win the Masters. Ever.

Phil Mickelson is down one spot from yesterday and now sits in 19th.  After his win at the Houston Open, it looked like he was back to his old self.  After his wife and mother were both diagnosed with cancer, lefty went through some tough times, as anyone would.  He took a well needed break from golf and focused on his family.  It is unknown how long he will be in the golf scene, but while he is here, we will all enjoy watching.

Masters update

Tiger Woods has made quite the comeback today in the Masters.  He has managed to work his way from 24th to 3rd.  He is joined there by one-time leader this afternoon, K.J. Choi who are both shooting seven under par.

Phil “lefty” Mickelson, on the other hand, has slipped from 14th to 20th.  Rory McIlroy has jumped into the lead with a -10.

Masters update

K.J. Choi has taken over the number one spot on the Masters leaderboard.  He is -3 so far today and -8 overall.  He moved up from yesterday where he was tied for third.

Rory McIlroy has maintained his number two spot at -7.  He tees off at 12:42 this afternoon.

Phil Mickelson has slid all the way down to the number 24 spot.  Yesterday he finished the day tied for 14th.  He is +1 today.

Tiger Woods is also having a rough time.  He currently stands at number 24with Phil Mickelson and 10 others.

Let the Masters begin

The Masters kicked off today in Augusta, Georgia.

Retief Goosen has jumped out ahead of the pack finishing the front 9 at 5 under par.  Rory McIlroy is right below Goosen at 4 under, and joining him there is Matt Kuchar who is building momentum very quickly.

This first round has been quite the disappointing outing for Tiger Woods who finished the front nine just 1 under par.  He did not participate in the Housten Open, in which Phil Mickelson won, because he was preparing for the Masters.

Phil Mickelson is set to tee of at around 1:45 along with the rest of the second round of golfers today.

PGA champion Martin Kaymer is the highest ranked player in the World, but this is his first appearance at the Masters. He has continuously fallen just short of making the cut in previous years.

Sad day in Philadelphia

Today was not such a great day for Philly sports.

The Flyers had the chance to clinch the Atlantic division with a win in tonight’s game against the Senators.  They fly guys lost 2-5. Mike Richards seemed to be the only one who showed up to play today as he scored 2 goals.

The Phillies struggled early when pitching ace Cole Hamels gave up 6 runs in the first 3 inning before being replaced with relief pitcher Kyle Kendrick.

I was a little nervous with Kendrick coming in.  He doesn’t exactly have the best track record, and his 2008 World Series ring was recently stolen so the fear of him not being in the right state of mind was in my head.

Given those facts, he did a good job of keeping the Mets at arms length.  Between the third and ninth inning the Mets only put up 1 more run.

Unfortunately for the Phillies, they scored 1 run in the entire game.  Not good.  However, it is only April 4 and they are still 3-1 so I am sufficiently satisfied overall.

The Sixers also put up a loss in tonight’s game.  The Celtics beat out the Sixers by a score of 99-82.  Evan Turner scored 21 points, two points shy of his career high.

With the loss tonight, they are currently in 6th place, 4 games behind the Hawks and a half game ahead of the Knicks.
