Back from a break

Wellll it has been quite a long time since I have been on here. I think I did too much too soon so I will be slowing things down a little bit. not as many posts, but posts none the less.

Thanks Ubaldo…

I was on my Comcast home page and came across a very funny story.  Now, I know that a lot of people are used to the roughness of other sports like hockey but baseball players are very fragile.

Example:  On opening Ubaldo Jimenez had a pretty bad day.  A normally gracious and successful pitcher having a bad day?  Well, it happens, and for various reasons.

But for Jimenez, this particular bad day seemed to be the outcome of a bad manicure.

The article reads, and I am not kidding:

“A cracked cuticle was the culprit in Ubaldo Jimenez’s unusually poor performance on opening day, and it could force him to miss his next start.”

My dad and I always make fun of, as much as we love baseball and its dedicated players, the somewhat hilarious injuries that land them on the DL.

Just when I thought the story couldn’t get any better, I read down to this little gem of information:

“The Colorado Rockies’ ace said Saturday that he was putting ointment on the cut and taping it up for two days in hopes of avoiding infection and speeding the healing.”

Really? Neosporin and taping?  Is that necessary for a CRACKED CUTICLE?

There is a hint of seriousness to the article, and some insight into why this MIGHT be a legit injury.  The cracked cuticle was on his thumb which prevented him from being able to grip the ball correctly.

But despite that, the headline and 3/4 of the article is nonetheless comical.

When I finished reading the article to my dad, he came back with:

“Remember that Flyers game me and your mother went to? The one where Jodi Shelley had to get 50 stitches but then came back for the third period? Just saying.”

Not Just Fashion

As much as I have loved writing about fashion, this blog is going to be taking on a new look.  It is going to kind of take a complete 180 and be about sports.  I know I know but hey I change my mind a lot.  I may throw in some random things along the way too, and anything funny that I see.  Basically, with me, you never know what you’re gonna get so keep checking back for fun stuff!!

My new favorite Avon lady

My beautiful and amazing sister has just become a new representative for Avon.  She is based in North Jersey but I’m sure she would be willing to stretch her boundaries to other place in New Jersey since she is “from” very south Jersey.

She has a Facebook page so I highly suggest you all go check it out and don’t forget to “like” it!

Model Profile: Gemma Ward

Gemma Ward is a stunning blond hair, blue-eyed, 5’10” model.

She was born on November 3, 1987 so she is fairly young just like Candice.  Unlike Candice, Gemma is Australian which lifts her hot factor by a lot.

At only sixteen, Ward was the youngest model to be listed by American Vogue as one of the nine “It Girls” in the modeling world.  She has been in shows for designers such as Prada, Versace, Gucci, Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, and many more. Ward has also graced magazine covers such as Vogue, W, and TIME Magazine’s Style and Design issue. In September 2004, at the age of 16, Ward became the youngest fashion model on the cover of the American edition of Vogue and was the first model to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue magazine.

Gemma’s style and baby-like face has inspired a whole new generation of models.  She is the Twiggy of our generation.  She has inspired the baby-doll like models to the likes of Lily Cole and Jessica Stam.

Hot men of sports

So, since I couldn’t think of a better title for this entry, I titled it as such.  My love of sports and fashion do not mesh that often, but when they do, I jump at the opportunity.  I have noticed over the years the even though men look amazing in a sports uniform, sometimes they look just as amazing in a 3-piece suit.  So let’s take a look at some examples shall we?

Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets…

Roger Federer…Tennis…

AndyRoddick…Tennis…

Chase Utley…Philadelphia Phillies (please ignore his wife)

Mike Richards, Joffrey Lupul, Jeff Carter…Philadelphia Flyers (not exactly suits but are you complaining?)

Model Profile: Candice Swanepoel

You may recognize this stunning beauty from the pages of the Victoria’s Secret Catalog.  Candice Swanepoel was born on October 20, 1988, which makes her a little over a year older than I am, and she has already accomplished so much.  For example, she is signed with the world’s most prestigious modeling agency in the world, IMG Models and she has walked the runway in the ever popular annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show with some of the world’s most famous models like Adriana Lima, and Alessandra Ambrosio.

She has done covers for Vogue Greece, Elle Germany and advertisements for Nike, Diesel, and Guess?.

On August 12, 2010 Swanepoel officially opened the first Victoria’s Secret retail store in Canada.

And to break many hearts around the world, Candice has been dating model Hermann Nicoli since 2006.

To check out more pictures of Candice, take a look at her IMG Models page.

Fashion across the Universe: Prague

The people of Prague are extremely well dressed.  Not to mention that Prague has been rated the most beautiful place in the entire world.  It is not wonder that multiple famous super models such as Karolina Kurkova have come from Prague.  The fashions are very pretty and feminine with touches of sophistication.  This is what I mean:
